LOUISVILLE, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 12, 2008--Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM) announced that its 2009 annual stockholders'
meeting will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. eastern
time at the company's headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky. The record
date for the 2009 annual meeting of stockholders will be February 23,
2009. The company will web cast its annual stockholders' meeting for
those unable to attend the event in person.
Humana implemented the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's new
Notice and Access rule in February 2008. The rule allows companies to
furnish proxy materials to stockholders via the Internet as an
alternative to the traditional approach of delivering a printed set to
each stockholder. The proxy statement for the 2009 annual meeting and
the 2008 Annual Report to Stockholders will be available via the
Internet. Humana stockholders also may obtain hard copies of the
company's proxy materials for the 2009 annual meeting free of charge by
following the instructions provided on the company's website or in the
"Notice of Internet Availability of Proxy Materials" that will be mailed
to stockholders in early March 2009.
The web cast of the company's annual meeting of stockholders may be
accessed via the Humana's Investor Relations page at www.humana.com.
The company suggests web participants sign on approximately 15 minutes
in advance of the scheduled meeting time. The company also suggests web
participants visit the site well in advance of the meeting to run a
system test and to download any free software needed to view the
presentation.
For those unable to listen to the live event, the virtual presentation
archive will be available in the Presentations section of the Investor
Relations page at www.humana.com,
approximately two hours following the live web cast.
