John Barger

John Barger serves as President of Humana’s Medicaid business, a role has held since 2015. In this role, John is responsible for building the Company’s Medicaid program - leading strategy, growth, business operations excellence, and tailoring unique health plan solutions for our state based customers. John is a member of the Company’s Management Team Extended, which assists the Management Team in setting out and executing on the company’s strategic business goals.

John joined Humana in 1996 and has held various leadership roles of increasing responsibility across the Company’s Medicare, Centerwell, and corporate finance operations.

John earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a CPA designation from the State of Virginia. John also serves as the executive leader of The Hunger Action Alliance in partnership with Feeding America and as a Board Member for the Florida Council on Aging.
